Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Freedom Makes Slaves (Bogle) From: Susanne (skw) Date: 30 Aug 05 - 08:52 PM George, what you are looking for is Singing the Spirit Home. Notes: [1992:] Written 1986. - A true story about a young black man being executed in a South African prison a few years ago. As they dragged him along the corridor to the gallows, all the other black men from their cells in the prison, started to sing a freedom song to him. It must have been the last sound he heard as they hung him. (Notes 'The Eric Bogle Songbook 2') |
Subject: Lyr Req: Freedom Makes Slaves (Bogle) From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 30 Aug 05 - 06:14 PM I've done some looking around, and can't locate this. I heard part of a chorus on the radio, and they had said it was Eric Bogle. The chorus had a line that seemed (as near as I can recollect when I got to some paper) to be "Freedom makes slaves of us all". Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |
