Subject: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: GUEST,JohnnieBGoode Date: 30 Jun 02 - 11:38 AM Because if you take the first letter of each song, it's spells out "This one's for you, Charlie". Just kidding! But I know the beach boys knew him etc, and then that time in India with a beach boy or so there...sometimes i'm curious about it... |
Subject: RE: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: GUEST Date: 30 Jun 02 - 11:41 AM Nothing credible whatsoever links the Beatles to Manson. The Beach Boys are another matter though. |
Subject: RE: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: 53 Date: 30 Jun 02 - 12:57 PM Beatles did not have anything at all to do with that crime. |
Subject: RE: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: Murray MacLeod Date: 30 Jun 02 - 06:12 PM Why assume that the "Charlie" in the supposed acronym refers to Charles Manson? Maybe it was a dedication to Charlie Chaplin. Murray |
Subject: RE: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: GUEST,Ed Date: 30 Jun 02 - 06:22 PM Murray, There is no such acronym. The first track on the 'White Album' begins with a 'B' JohnnieBGoode did say that he was kidding... In answer to the question, the answer is NO I could look through various sources and 'prove' that Dennis Wilson's involvement with the Manson Family had nothing to do with the Beatles. Don't see much point in doing so, though Ed

Subject: RE: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: GUEST,JohnnieBGoode Date: 02 Jul 02 - 03:18 AM Okay, here's another one. Did McCartney write "Maxwell's silver hammer" before the Manson horror, or after? My guess is before...but was it released before or after? I only wonder cause it would seem really crass etc. |

Subject: RE: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: GUEST,JohnnieBGoode Date: 02 Jul 02 - 03:59 AM What was Lennon's statement in a rolling stone interview...something about artists admitting some shared responsibility for reactions of others to their work? That statement reaffirmmed his inteligence and heart to me. Sounds extreme when you just read it though. |
Subject: RE: did beatles know of manson b4 wh album? From: GUEST Date: 14 Sep 13 - 04:43 PM I have lived in Chatsworth my whole life. I have taken acid and roamed the area that Charlie did. In the late 70's and early 80's there was still evidence around showing their presence. A place called acid rock where they carved images in the sand stone from natural images in the rock you could only see on a full moon and on acid. The whole Manson thing is distorted by the media to sell to the public to feed society's blood thirsty lust. We are all guilty |
