Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew the chords to Angeline is Always friday, by Bruce Woodley of the Seekers and Tom Paxton, of...well, Tom Paxton.

I know you asked for chords, but lyrics are also nice. Here are lyrics I found online, compared with the Seekers recording for accuracy (they're pretty good):

(Belinda, Bruce Woodley, Tom Paxton)

Clatter -- the milkman at my doorstep, bustle -- my neighbour at her tea;
In all the world no one's so glad to see the sun as me.

Angeline is always Friday, Angeline is spring forever;
Winter Angeline could never be.
Mister Wilson, old and smiling, lifts his cap as she is passing,
Bowing her politely on to me.

The week has gone its lonely way;
I've waited for my only day
Away from shadows,
In her sunlight I can tell her, "I love you, Angeline."

Angeline is always Friday, suitcase on the rack above;
She hasn't even read her magazine.
Angeline is counting stations, 'til the one where I am standing,
Waiting for my only Angeline.
(Instrumental bridge)

Clatter -- the milkman at my doorstep, bustle -- my neighbour at her tea;
In all the world no one's so glad to see the sun as me.

I know the chords, and I'll post them just as soon as I get a chance to write them out--probably tomorrow. Til then, if you want to ballpark it, the tune is in D, intro is an Em that goes down by half steps like "Blue Skies"--em/em maj7/Em7, the verse is Dmaj7-em7-G7, like "Elusive Butterfly of Love", the bridge starts on G goes to F#m, a lot like the bridge of "Will You Love Me Tomorrow"(when I post the chart).

Here are the chords I came up with. I have not keyed the chords to words, because if I did, you would spend the rest of your life trying to sort out where you were.

I have created a chart that is self-contained- you can follow as if it were actual music. If you count and play the chords, you will play a workable guitar accompaniment to the song. Anyone singing or playing of the melody is on their own;-)

There are four counts per measure, the measures are delineated by slash marks. Each chord letter gets two counts unless there is a hyphen between them, in which case they are one count each(it happens once: Em-A7).

You can play the B+ like this:

You can play C#+ like this:

You can also call that "Am6".

Em B+/ Em7 A
Em B+/ Em7 A

PU: D|
D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/ D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/
Em Em/ A7 A7 /D Dmaj7/D6 A7/
D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/ D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/
Em Em/ A7 A7 /D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/
G G/GG/F#m F#m/F#m F#m/
G G/GG/F#m C#+/F#m7-5 Em-A7/
D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/ D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/
Em Em/ A7 A7 /D Dmaj7/D6 Dmaj7/
Em B+/ Em7 A
Em B+/ Em7 A

Have fun, and don't hurt anyone.

Tom Paxton wrote the words, Bruce Woodley wrote the music.

My friend Bootleg just sent me the chords he wrote down from watching The Seekers' live performance video, saying, "These are EXACTLY the chords Bruce Woodley played on The Seekers' performance."

I double checked those complicated chords with Tom Paxton's version on "Album 6", and they are very accurate. I have posted it on my "Tom Paxton Chords" website here: I'm too lazy to copy-paste the chords to this thread, as it requires some HTML work.

Maybe too late but - Hope this helps.
