Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Tom Paxton: A Sailor's Life From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 13 Aug 00 - 08:19 PM I believe the LP is "How Come The Sun" (1971; Warner/Reprise Records RS 6443, released in the UK as Reprise K44129); the song is credited "T. Paxton/ D. Horowitz", so I assume that we're not talking about the traditional song. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the album in question in 20 years...now somebody round here must have it? Malcolm |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Tom Paxton: A Sailor's Life From: raredance Date: 13 Aug 00 - 09:40 PM I have the album and will have a go at transcribing the words, soon I hope. I know it was an album in the era that did not include printed lyrics because years ago I transcribed "General Custer" from it and still occasionally sing it. I always wanted to learn "Louise" but there were enough word uncertainties for me that I never did learn it. rich r |

Subject: A sailor's life - lyrics From: GUEST,HaDiMe Date: 02 May 02 - 01:36 PM Hi, yesterday I found a song by Tom Paxton: "A sailor's life". My English is too poor to understand the iyrics. In your database is a song with the same title but different lyrics. It would be great, if you could post me the lyrics of the song that Paxton has sung. Thank you!
