Subject: Song Origins PermaThread™ From: katlaughing Date: 14 Dec 01 - 03:33 AM Also see Song Origins This PermaThread™ first posting really belongs to George Seto as he started the original thread: Origins of: found on Mudcat and, has been the most prolific contributor. Thanks, George! Thanks, also, to everyone else who has contributed links to threads on the origins of songs. For those of you who wish to have your comments and contributions preserved, please continue to post to the above linked thread, where they will be left, permanently. If you do not mind them being deleted, once I've put in your song link contributions, feel free to post them to this thread, which will be edited. Subject: RE: Song Origins PermaThread From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 31 May 02 - 10:51 AM The links are working fine right now. Not sure why you're having problems. This is the permathread itself. The other threads are where we bring them to Katlaughing to add to this one. |
Subject: RE: Song Origins PermaThread™ From: katlaughing Date: 31 May 02 - 11:20 AM Thanks, George. Toadfrog, the links are working for me, too. They do go to threads which do not have the same name as the listing in the above; but, they are about those particular songs. Please let me know what kind of error you get, or what happens when you try to access them. When we were setting this up, people wanted to preserve the record of who posted what additions for the above list, so we decided to keep them in the other threads. This one is deliberately kept short so that folks don't have a hard time loading it, as I do delete messages after a certain time. The other ones stay as they are, no deletions, as a permanent record as with threads in general. Thanks, kat |

Subject: RE: Song Origins PermaThread™ From: wysiwyg Date: 15 Jan 07 - 11:38 PM I wish the Spirituals PermaThread had a TM too...... I didn;t know how to make one when I started it....... ~Susan |
Subject: RE: Song Origins PermaThread™ From: katlaughing Date: 15 Jan 07 - 11:57 PM Susan, I don't remember the code for it. In any case, I don't think I made it for this one. I know Max coined the term and started out with the TM, so it must've been him or Joe or Jeff who put it on. I'll bet they could amend yours to show it, too. kat |
